Weekend Writing Warriors #51!

Well, hi there! Welcome back to another exciting week of reading and sharing and general merriment! For those unaware, January 24th is National Peanut Butter Day. I hope my fellow PB addicts celebrated accordingly. If not, no need to panic. You can celebrate by reading another excerpt from Nutcases!

Here's the premise: It's the year 2033. Since so many people have developed allergies to peanuts in this century, the government has banned peanuts and all peanut-related products, including (*gasp*) peanut butter. Side note: I think that was the most anyone has ever used the word 'peanut' in a sentence. Well, as you can imagine, Morgan, my heroine, refuses to live in a world without PB. So, with the help of my hero, Clark, they build their own peanut-butter-making machine in the secret basement of her home and begin the business of bootlegging. Also, they share a few pb kisses, etc, etc. :-D

And here's an excerpt:

“By the way, I’m really not wearing any underwear.”

“Oh God.” They’d never make it upstairs, not if she kept circling her hips and humming softly in her throat. Not when all he could think about was spreading the entire contents of the jar from one end of her body to the other.

There would be time to work out the specifics of the machinery on the table, but his equipment was about to blow. Reading his thoughts, or perhaps the SOS from his pulsing appendage, she hopped from his arms and created some room for them to get a little better acquainted. And screw each other’s brains out. Well, that’s what he intended to do, at least.

That's all, folks! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

On Friday I finished off my first semester teaching high school Phys.Ed. This week we get into the nitty-gritty business of exams and report cards, but I'm still flying high after a couple rounds of 'warm fuzzies' with my students. I gave all the girls a piece of paper, had them jot their names in the top corner, and then we sat in a circle and passed them around, writing an anonymous note of something we liked about every person. At the end, when we all got our original sheet of paper back, there were smiles on every face, including my own. :) Wishing you all a week filled with warm fuzzies!

Weekend Writing Warriors #50!

Good Sunday morning to you, my friends! Hope all is well in your worlds! I figured I'd continue with the PB kissy-kissy this week since it went over so well last week. ;)

Here's the premise for Nutcases: It's the year 2033. Also, they share a few pb kisses, etc, etc. :-D

And here's an excerpt:

Salty, passionate, sweeter than sin. Tongues tangled in a game of give and take. Her back hit the wall. He wanted to consume her, to swallow her whole. This taste, this feeling--so warm and familiar.

“You taste like my memories,” he whispered against her lips.

“Oh, Clark," she moaned. Their hips rocked together, creating a friction so intense he was losing his mind.

Yesterday I finally booked my flight for my annual girlfriends getaway. Every year I meet these ladies in a different state to gossip and giggle and gab our time away. They're my best friends, and since I only get to see some of them once a year, I really cherish the time we spend together. We'll be frolicking and fraternizing in San Antonio at the end of February. If you live in or near the area, you might want to invest in a good pair of ear plugs. The giddy squeals can get pretty loud at times. :D Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #49!

Helloooooo, my dears! Welcome back to Crazytown! I'm sharing another excerpt from Nutcases today, but we're taking a little leap ahead.

He waited for her to fill her spoon too then together they plunged them into their mouths.

It melted on his tongue, the salty sweetness teasing his taste buds with a hint of what used to be. Chunky, of course. There was nothing smooth about this woman, besides her silk-textured skin. She had killer curves, a crooked smile that made him crazy, and a home with more twists and turns than the country road he drove in on.

“Now,” she mumbled through sticky lips, her chest heaving as she freed the licked-clean spoon from her mouth. "Now, Clark."

His spoon hit the floor with a clatter as he swept her into his arms and kissed the living daylights out of her.

That's all, folks! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Every time I share an excerpt from this story I feel an overwhelming desire to bury my face in a jar of peanut butter. Anyone else? No? Okay, then. Carry on. :D Actually, I have one awesome piece of news to share before you leave. On Friday I officially signed on to teach another semester at Nepean High School! I'm also the new head coach of the junior girls volleyball team! I'm doing my best to control my Sue Sylvester-esque tendencies, but I may or may not vomit down the backs of our opponents. Have a wonderful week, all!

Weekend Writing Warriors #48!

Happy New Year, my friends! Hope 2014 has been sweet to you so far. On the off chance that it hasn't, here's your weekly dose of peanut buttery goodness!

Here's the premise for Nutcases: It's the year 2033. :-D

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

Are those bean bag chairs?" he asked as they passed through the living room.

"They are indeed."

"I didn't know they still made those."

"They don't." She raised her eyebrows suggestively. "I'm not a big fan of change. I like the things I like, and when they're taken from me...well, let's just say, I always find a way to get what I want."

"That how I ended up here?" he asked, smirking.

Well, I'm heading back to Ottawa today after spending two blessed weeks at home with my family. It's always so hard leaving, but once I get back in my own place, doing what I love doing, I'll be happy as a spoon in peanut butter. January is my favourite month. Not just because its my birth month. It feels like a new beginning. The air is crisp and fresh. I'm excited to try new things, make new friends, and write new stories. Wishing you all a wonderful week and a prosperous new year! :)
